Kind secures third international Gold win for Bareksten

Kind's design and packaging for Bareksten Botanical Gin have added to the spirit label's trophy cabinet with yet another international Gold win.

Hot on the heels of the Bergen-based spirit company's Double Gold victory in the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in April this year, Bareksten Botanical Gin has won the Design & Packaging Gold Medal at the International Spirits Challenge 2017.

The competition is the world's premier event for promoting excellence in spirits, and has been running for more than 20 years. It has a global reputation built on authority, respected judges and an unsurpassed influence on the industry. More than 1,300 entries were received for this year's competition, from more than 70 countries.

'Vital element'
The Design & Packaging Gold Medal was awarded to Bareksten Botanical Gin in the competition's New Individual Brand category. A spokesman for the organisers said: 'Design is a vital element for the success of any spirit brand. Design has many functions, such as band development and awareness, functionality and the communication of the brand to consumers. The ISC Design and Packaging Awards recognise the very best design within the spirits sector.'

CEO, Founder and Creative Director of Kind, Tom Emil Olsen, said from the company's global headquarters in Bergen, Norway: 'I am delighted that the branding, design and packaging we created for Bareksten has been recognised with such a prestigious industry award. Stig Bareksten is such a respected, recognisable figure in the Norwegian spirits scene and beyond, and the botanical wonders he creates have already forged a global reputation. It is a pleasure and privilege to work with him and his brand.

'Kind looks forward continuing its fruitful collaboration with Stig, the Bareksten brand and producers Oss Craft Distillery as the awards and recognition continue to flood in. We're extremely happy to have played our part.'

Sig Bareksten, CEO and Founder of Bareksten Spirits, said: 'I chose Kind as the right branding agency for Bareksten Spirits as I fully believe they represent the very best in Scandinavian design. I have global ambitions for the Bareksten brand and so, when it comes to the design and branding aspects, I need to work with the very best in the world. Kind delivers, every time, and helps me to build the reputation of the Bareksten brand. That's what I get from my relationship with Kind.'
