DOGA award for design excellence

The victorious Kind - another top design award for the world's best gin

Kind has won yet another major award for creating the Bareksten Spirits brand identity.

At a glittering awards ceremony in Oslo, Kind's CEO, Creative Director and Founder Tom Emil Olsen was joined on stage by the rest of the Kind team to collect a prestigious DOGA award for design excellence.

The branding agency's latest win with Bareksten Spirits comes just a few months after Kind took the Gold Award for best-in-show New Individual Brand at the 2017 International Spirits Challenge in London.

'Innovative in the category'
The DOGA jury, consisting of Norway's leading design and branding experts, said in their verdict of Barkesten: 'The packaging clearly stands out in the category and gives the Bareksten Spirits series a clear identity, drawing more than a little inspiration from the Norwegian black metal universe. The four different types - gin, vodka, aquavit and blueberry liqueur - have all got their own identity with different trees, but the series fits into a comprehensive expression that is perceived as innovative in the category.'

'Avoids clichés'
The jury continued: 'The products are primarily intended for the international market, and we would like to praise Bareksten for not going resorting to cliché by showing fjords and mountains when they are addressing the products' Norwegian origins. On the contrary, the mythical design elements and the story of the distiller as a type of alchemist are both exciting and credible.'

At the awards ceremony, Kind team was joined on stage by Stig Bareksten, the master distiller behind the 'world's best gin' that took Double Gold at the 2017 World Spirits Competition in San Francisco.
